The program is funded jointly by the Australian Government Department of Health & Ageing and the NSW Government Department of Family Services; Ageing Disability & Home Care.

The KVHV program matches community members with volunteers to imporve their quality of life, reduce their social isolation and maintain people in their own homes and community environment as long as possible whilst safe to do so. The program is funded to provide:-
Home based volunteer programs to individuals - the program is funded for 25 volunteers to support a minimum of 25 individuals within the community
