People volunteer for a wide variety of reasons, especially wanting to help others.

Volunteers are always needed. Training is provided and some out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed.

 Community Visitors’ Scheme

We support volunteers to visit residents of nursing homes who are isolated and lonely. 

 Katoomba Volunteer Home Visitors

Volunteers do home visits, assist with small tasks or provide respite care for clients or their carers.

 Reception / Information and Referral

The reception area of KNC is completely staffed by volunteers.  It is a great way to be part of a friendly team - to learn and be part of your community.

Other opportunities include:

• making videos for our website or training presentations;
• helping out with communuty lunches;
• projectionist and other duties at the Katoomba Film Society;
• editing publications such as the Blue Fringe literary awards book;
• providing information at functions and manning stalls in the community
• and of course the always needed committee work.
